Sugarlane Cakes is an absolute passion for Sharlayne Cunningham. Raised on a farm, she became fixated on the works of Alison Holst at a young age. Copying Alison's techniques was the beginning of her training, to become the fantastic cake maker she is today.
Her baking skills may be completely self-taught, but Sharlayne holds the National Standard 167 Food Handling Certificate. Plus she operates under the NZ Food Control Plan, so you can trust that everything is safe and above board.
Quality and taste is paramount. She regularly researches new techniques, trials flavours and practices her skills, to ensure you are getting absolute value for money, and her cakes are fine examples of that dedication.
Sharlayne is a whizz at time management. She is a mother of 4, and previously has managed the baking department of the Balclutha Night and Day, thus proving she is fully capable of getting the job done on time.
